(The following is an excerpt from the March Issue of the Michigan Memo)
CANCER! Hearing that word attached to my name seemed to end my life! But cancer has taught me some very special lessons in the past two years. It changed my life, and the way I look at life. I already ate right, exercised regularly, got proper rest, and tried to maintain a good attitude. But cancer changed how I thought about others, too, because I saw how having cancer caused others to change their attitude toward me!
When I got my first diagnosis in 2008, everyone in my family—including me!—was shocked! “Lord,” I argued, “this wasn’t supposed to happen to me! This wasn’t part of the bargain. You said that if I did this and this…” I had been trying to bargain with God: “I’ll do the right things, and God, you guarantee right results.”

CHANGE YOUR WORLD
A Michigan Soul-winning Rally will be held Sabbath, May 1, at Great Lake Adventist Academy (GLAA). That day will be an inspirational rally ordered much like the Men of Faith Sabbath. There will be practical training in how to win souls and how to change the world around us for Jesus Christ. He is coming soon, and we want to ignite God’s people for service.
We have invited Judith Miranda, a dynamic lay soul winner from Malibu, CA to come and share her story of how she determined that not having a Seventh-day Adventist church in Malibu needed to change, and what she did to make a church there a reality. Most of you know that Malibu is a very elite part of California where many of the “rich and famous” reside. That reality did not deter her from her mission to change her world.
